Career Speaker Program
The LFL-RI Career Speakers program is a value-added program for schools interested in enhancing their career awareness initiatives. LFL-RI partners with schools and community organizations to bring community role models into middle school classrooms to share their personal paths of success with students. These students benefit from interacting with adults who can help them formulate ideas for future areas of employment.
At the high school level, LFL-RI collaborates with teachers and school-to-career coordinators to plan presentations and visits from local professionals, who can offer students firsthand knowledge and understanding of various career fields. LFL-RI can tailor a career program to the school or organization’s specific needs, by organizing individual classroom visits or facilitating a Career Day format. Through the use of our short Student Career Interest Survey, LFL-RI can identify the various career interests of students at any given school, and work to recruit appropriate speakers of interest to that school’s students.
