Learning for Life ~ Rhode Island

LFL-RI Exploring is a worksite-based program in Rhode Island that provides youth with an opportunity to partner with community organizations to explore the dynamics of various careers.  All young men and women, ages 14 (and completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old, are eligible to participate in the Exploring program.  The goal of Exploring is to provide growth experiences for young people that prepare them to become responsible, productive adult citizens.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities.  Local community organizations initiate Explorer posts by matching their professionals and program resources to the interests of young people in the community.  The result is a program of activities that helps youth investigate their career interests, develop and mature personally, and forge strong, mutually rewarding relationships with positive role models in the community.
