Project COPE is a customized outdoor program for youth, grades 3 and up. It is composed of group initiative games, trust activities, and challenging low ropes course elements. Some activities involve a group challenge, while others develop individual skills and agility. Project COPE is noncompetitive, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, while providing opportunities for every participant to succeed as an individual, and as member of a group, without creating a “winner-loser” dynamic. Project COPE emphasizes these goals: · · Teamwork · · Communication – listening and discussion skills · · Trust · · Leadership · · Decision-Making · · Self-Esteem · · Problem Solving · · Planning · · Fun COPE is ideal for school or youth groups looking for a fun & adventurous activity that provides opportunities for leadership development and teambuilding. It can serve as an ice-breaker activity at the beginning of an academic year or a reward at the end of the year! OPTIONS Low COPE Course — High ropes course experience is available to 3rd Grade and up school groups High COPE Course – High ropes course experience is available to advanced high school groups Overnight - Youth groups and schools looking for a more complete experience can choose to do an overnight event. Cabin & tent sites are available at both locations. WHEN & WHERE Learning for Life-Rhode Island operates Project COPE courses at two locations in Rhode Island: Camp Champlin in Cranston and Camp Yawgoog in Hope Valley. We schedule COPE dates during the spring & fall, and occasionally during the winter. COST Project COPE costs $10.00 per youth.
